Bread x CONDER SummerLab 2025

Join us for an inspiring week of movement, creativity, and performance at our Bread x CONDER SummerLab 2025! Designed for dedicated dancers, this intensive experience offers training with top industry professionals, opportunities for artistic growth, and a culminating showcase featuring original choreography created during the workshop, alongside performances by local professional dance companies.  First of its kind as a collaboration between Bread Dance Company and CONDER/dance

Workshop Details

Dates: July 21–26, 2025

  • Daily Schedule: 10:00 AM – 5:00 PM (Pro Level) or 10:00 AM - 3:30 PM (Pre-Pro Level)

  • Showcase Performance: July 26 at 7:00 PM

    • Featuring performance of new works created for workshop dancers choreographed by CONDER director Carley Conder and Bread director Dana Metz

    • Performances by CONDER/dance and Bread Dance

    • Performances by Arizona local professional companies

  • Location: Arizona State University, Nelson Fine Arts Center, 51 East 10th Street, Tempe, AZ

    • Paid parking is available directly across from the studios.

Tuition & Rates

  • Pro Level (16+): $750

  • Pre-Pro Level (12–15): $600 

Drop-In Rate: $25 per class / $100 for a full day


Faculty & Guest Artists

Our workshop features esteemed faculty and guest artists, bringing years of professional experience in contemporary dance, choreography, and performance. Dancers will have the opportunity to train with these influential artists and gain insight into their creative processes.

Nationally Known Guest Teachers

  • Ben Green: Born in the U.S. in 1996, Ben graduated from the Las Vegas Academy of the Arts in 2014. He has participated in workshops and programs with renowned choreographers such as Crystal Pite, Johannes Wieland, and Tom Weinberger. Ben joined Batsheva – The Young Ensemble in 2016 and Batsheva Dance Company in 2017, where he performed until 2023. In 2023, he became a Choreographic Assistant for Marlene Monteiro Freitas for projects in the Opera Ballet de Lyon. Currently, Ben is a freelance choreographer, performer, and certified Gaga teacher. 

  • Wesley Ensminger: Originally from Santa Cruz, CA, Wesley holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in Dance Performance and Choreography from the California Institute of the Arts. He has collaborated with a vast range of professional companies and choreographers as a performing artist and has taught, performed, and choreographed throughout the United States, Canada, and Europe. Wesley is known for his expertise in release technique and his exploration of new ways the body can move. 

CONDER/dance and Bread Dance Company Teachers:

  • Carley Conder: Artistic Director of CONDER/dance and faculty member at Arizona State University, Carley has choreographed and performed extensively, contributing significantly to the contemporary dance scene in Arizona.​

  • Kelsey Metz: An accomplished dancer and educator, Kelsey has performed with CONDER/dance and is known for her innovative choreography and dedication to dance education.​

  • Kailin Metz: Kailin brings a wealth of experience in performance and teaching, having collaborated with numerous choreographers and companies throughout her career.​

  • Dana Metz: Dana is a seasoned dancer and instructor, recognized for her dynamic performances and commitment to fostering young dance talent.

  • CONDER Company Members: Dancers from the renowned CONDER/dance company will share their expertise and creative insights, providing participants with a diverse range of contemporary dance techniques and styles.​

Final Showcase Performance

The Summer Dance Workshop Showcase will take place on Saturday, July 26 at 7:00 PM. This exciting performance will feature original works created during the workshop, allowing participants to share their artistic voices. The evening will also highlight performances by local professional dance companies, making this a must-see event for the dance community!


Daily Schedule

  • Class 1: 10:00–11:30 AM (Technique class with CONDER and Bread instructors)

  • Class 2: 11:30 AM–1:00 PM (Technique class with Guest Artist instructors) 

  • Lunch Break: 1:00–2:00 PM

  • Creative Process (16+): 2:00–5:00 PM (Dancers will create a new work with CONDER director Carley Conder and Bread director Dana Metz.  These works will be performed at the Showcase Performance.)
